Lisa Carabuena, LMHC
Lisa Carabuena brings almost two decades of clinical experience with her to Joy In Health. She received both bachelor and master degrees from Northeastern University, graduated Summa Cum Laude and received the Psychology Departmental Award.
Lisa trained and worked at McLean Hospital where she developed her skills in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). Lisa strengthened these skills at Ellenhorn, an assertive community therapy program, as a case manager and CBT supervisor. And Lisa helped create, develop and direct The Wellness Program at Ellenhorn.
Lisa’s aim is to grow a relationship grounded in safety and respect while considering each client’s unique life experiences.
With her mindfulness-based behavioral approach, Lisa works to meet her clients wherever they are in their process of change and then create a plan for exploration and treatment. Lisa believes it is possible for all of us to connect to our true authentic selves—to build confidence in our strengths, make decisions aligned with our values, and ignite new identities that are patiently waiting to be discovered.
